Enjoy hot water from the Sun with the Solar iBoost Plus – the latest automatic water heating device for PV system owners from Marlec. The two parts of the Solar iBoost system talk to each other wirelessly. There is a Sender that measures how much is being exported which transmits information to the actual Solar iBoost itself and this responds by releasing the free energy available to heat up water in your customers tank. The Solar iBoost Plus works by diverting the surplus solar photovoltaic energy generated at your home to heat the water in the household tank and save you money. How does the Solar iBoost Work? Your PV solar array generates electricity used in real-time in your home, reducing dependence on the grid and lowering energy bills. Any excess energy is typically exported to the grid, maximising efficiency, cutting costs, and supporting sustainability. Solar iBoost’s Sender and Clamp are installed at the household electricity meter. The Clamp detects when excess energy is available, and the Sender wirelessly sends a signal to the Solar iBoost to activate water heating. The Solar iBoost control unit is installed next to the hot water tank and receives messages from the Sender. When activated, it intelligently controls and adjusts the level of energy flowing to your immersion heater in line with the export levels as they rise and fall. Its increased efficiency and extra functions deliver even more savings and when coupled with iBoost Buddy Monitor V2 you can conveniently monitor and control your Solar iBoost within the home.
