CO2-Water chiller and Water Pump

Both CO₂ laser machines and laser heads cool the laser tube/laser head, but their functions, effects, and applicable scenarios are completely different. I. Water Pump : Function: Simply circulates cooling water in the pipes. Transfers heat from the laser tube to an external water tank/natural cooling. Advantages: Inexpensive, simple structure, low failure rate. Small size, easy installation. Suitable for low-power CO₂ laser machines (≤60W). Quiet operation, low power consumption. Disadvantages: No cooling capacity, relies solely on natural cooling. Water temperature will rise in summer/during prolonged operation, leading to:Laser power reduction.Laser tube lifespan shortened. Deteriorating cutting/engraving results. II. Chiller (Industrial Water Chiller) Function : Circulation cooling temperature control in one unit. Actively lowers the water temperature to the set temperature (usually set at 20–25℃). Includes water shortage protection, over-temperature alarm, filtration, etc. Advantages : True cooling, stable water temperature, unaffected by ambient temperature changes.Protects the laser tube, significantly extending its lifespan.More stable laser output power, consistent cutting results.can operate continuously for 24 hours. Multiple protections for enhanced safety.Suitable for >80W lasers. Disadvantages :More expensive than water pumps Slightly larger size and power consumption III. Simplest selection advice: ≤60W small machines: Water pump water tank is sufficient ≥80W medium and high power: Chiller is required High temperatures in summer, long processing times, and high precision requirements: Use a chiller directly Water pump = only circulates, does not cool Chiller = circulates forced cooling constant temperature protection The higher the power and the longer the working time, the more necessary a chiller is.
